The streak is over!!!!!!!!!! Jeff gordon holds off a late charge by his teammate Jimmie Johnson to take the win at Texas in the Samsung 500. It was Gordons first win at the Texas track. The winless streak stops at 47 for Gordon who was very happy to get the streak over. Gordon, the points leader with four top-five finishes the first six races, this win was his first since October 2007 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte.

Carl Edwards was going for his third victory at Texas, when the yellow came out for David Stremme’s spin to the infield on lap 30, Edwards headed for pit road only to be kicked back 10 spots by a slow front tire changer. Tony Stewart had a really good run in 4th, and a tip of the hat to JPM for his 7th place run today ran with the leaders most of the day.David Rueitmann who sat on the pole wound up 11th for a good run for the MWR team.

I’m very happy that Jeff won today. Enough about the 47 race winless streak. Isn’t this career win #82 or something? I think Montoya had the most impressive top 10 run. He’s doing alot better this year. Is it because he’s in a Chevy or because of the EGR partnership?

  2. SLY 1 says:

Yes indeed – i’m very happy Jeff won,
there are a few others I would love to see
win also = # 9 being one of them = dr needs
some crowing time also…LOL he’ll get dr.

  3. FLETCH346 says:

AMAZING!!!!! I loved the win today!!! 1 Top 10 finish (Daytona) and the rest Top 5’s (1 Win)… He’ll need this win and a few more to get up on those Bonus Points come Chase time…

  4. Little E~Big M fan says:

So glad Jeffy won today….too bad wife, baby & boss not there to joinhim in the winners circle….DW was saying that Jeffy has finished last, twice in his career and both of them were at Texas…so this win is special for him…..Once again Jr runs well most of the race then fades out at the end…….and Carl is a prime example of how important pit speed is….the outcome might have been different if his pit crew was faster.

  5. Red Zone says:

Doesn’t this win at Texas leave only Homestead the only track Jeff hasn’t won at?

  6. noydbyj says:

Exactly right, RZ. It was the TStew show when the track opened, and then the Biffle season finale for a while, and now it’s just another Rousch playground.
