Mid-week Ramblings… or rumblings…
From VRS series website:
Volunteer Racing Series moves August 14 date from Duck River to North Georgia (VRS will square off with SRRS)
SOMERSET, KY (August 2, 2010)–Officials with the Volunteer Racing Series are announcing some schedule amendments effective immediately.
The Volunteer Racing Series was scheduled to make an appearance at the Duck River Speedway on Saturday Night August 14th but since the track has now changed hands, the series will not be making the trip to Wheel, TN because of financial reasons from the Speedway. ‘I appreciate Tim Smith (previous promoter who booked the VRS race) for stepping up and booking a VRS race and hopefully we can work with Mr. Smith in the upcoming years and we certainly hope the best for new track promoters at Duck River Speedway,’ stated Series Director and co-founder Chris Tilley.
The Volunteer Racing Series is pleased to announced that the August 14 date will now be moved to North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA and will be a co-sanctioned event with the Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) and will pay their $3,000 to win purse. ‘I want to thank Timmy Milwood for inviting us to be apart of the North GA race as well as Tony Morris from SRRS, we we’re able to co-sanction with the Carolina Clash for this weekend’s upcoming race and we are pleased to be doing it again so we can not only benefit the racers and race fans by getting to see two shows but help the promoters in filling the stands by working with other dirt racing organizations,’ stated Tilley again.
Further information on the events at North GA Speedway can be obtained by visiting http://www.racevrs.com ; http://www.southernregionalracingseries.com ; or http://www.northgaspeedway.net . Further information on the VRS can be obtained by calling the Series Office at (606) 219-1723.
This will be great for the track, giving NGS even more exposure.
There has been lot’s of talk, about Jeff Smith of TEAM17 being “illegal”, well I say “horsefeathers!” if everyone who really thought so would pool money they could tear him down…. they would loose the money but they could do it. Yeah it gets old with the same person winning all the time but that is how it is, the rest of the drivers in crate need to step up to the plate!. That is what Jeff and team mate Randy Hill have done, they have gotten to where they are by long hours and hard work. Not cheating …….Good job guys the hard work is paying off….
I want to let everyone who has been asking me to sell pictures in on the new thing from the dr…. Photo Disc if I have at least 20 shot’s of a car or driver I will burn them to a disc and bring them to the race track for $20.00, this includes free updated photo’s during the rest of the year, if I get a really good shot of a car you like I will send it thru the email, provided you buy a disc, I got shots of lots of the cars and lots of the behind the scenes shots too so shoot me an email and let’s see if I can put a disc together for you….just email me at email@example.com
The supers have this weekend off but normal program is still on tap for Saturday night, hope to see you there.
Last week was a tough week on car’s, I seen the C4 car in hobby throw a driveshaft, and Robbie Hair tossed one right after the rain delay, he was hard on the gas coming off of turn 2 and when he cracked the throttle to get into turn 3 out it came… hope the back of the trans is ok… he is up pretty high in points this year.
Speaking of points, seems lot’s of people are wondering about points these days…. Devin Stuart broke his spool last week and went out and just made a few laps to keep his points from falling to far down….
Larry Higgins is still showing pretty strong, in 2 different cars.
Derek Ellis still has a commanding lead in supers,
lot’s of racing still to come, this is going to be exciting!
If you have a story or interesting bit of news please, PLEASE send it to me.. at firstname.lastname@example.org.
