RACE UPDATE FROM NGS CRATE RACE!!!
I just received word that the TEAM17 car of Jeff Smith was found legal and has been awarded the win in last nights crate race,
Last night the 23 car of Burrows who run second to Jeff Smith protested the 17S car at the scales, Hill Motor Sports owner Randall Hill also returned the favor and protested the 23 car as per the rules, “Protested driver will have the right to protest the car that filed the original protest.”
So last night both teams puled the engines from the cars and were taken to an authorized re-builder. Today the word came back that the 17S car’s engine was legal, giving him the win, and that the 23 car of burrows and an assortment of parts and work that wasn’t legal, so the 23 car lost it’s protest.
I spoke with Randall Hill by phone just a while ago and he said “I wanted to do this to show everyone that our car is legal, and this proves it , it isn’t the motor that wins, its the hard work of the crew Michael “Fatback” Hammontree and the driving of Jeff Smith.” and I have to agree those guys work hard every night keeping on top of the game and making sure the car they bring to the race track is the very best it can be.
Randall also wanted to thank the guys at RACETEK for the great work they do and Daniel Martin of Martin Motor sports who helped pull the engine last night and does the Bilstein shocks for the TEAM17 car’s.
So now we know who was right and who wasn’t, a great big atta boy to the TEAM17 guys on the win last night.
